Specialist Shoulder Physio
Specialist Shoulder Physiotherapy is available on referral at Auckland Shoulder Clinic for patients that have failed previous physiotherapy, or require specialist intervention.
Specialist Physios cannot register new claims with ACC and can only treat on the claim that you have been referred under. We require a ‘named referral’ with an ACC number attached for ACC clients. ACC funds 1 initial appointment and 4 follow-ups for a total of 5 physio specialist sessions. Margie is not available for routine rehabilitation.
The wait times to see Margie are typically 3-4 months. If you would like an earlier one-off review by one of our expert physios, then please let us know. Often this can expedite your treatment, and get you started in a different direction. There is no surcharge to see the Specialist Physio, but there is a surcharge to see the expert physios, as they are not funded in the same way by ACC.

Dr Margie Olds
Dr Margie Olds is a Specialist Shoulder Physiotherapist with a sub-specialty interest in shoulder pathology. Her PhD investigated recurrent shoulder instability after a first time shoulder discloation. She has published research on shoulder problems, regularly teaches physiotherapists and doctors, and presents at shoulder conferences in New Zealand and overseas. She works with the rest of the team at Auckland Shoulder Clinic in a collaborative style.

Appointments are available for ACC and Private patients. ACC patients must have an approved shoulder claim, and a referral for Specialist Physiotherapy.
