AUCKLAND SHOULDER CLINIC

We are physios who are passionate about delivering world class shoulder rehabilitation. We focus on shoulder injuries so that we can deliver high quality rehabilitation to assist you in recovering from your shoulder injury. Initial assessments are for 1 hour, with 30 or 45 minute follow-up appointments. Payments are $40 for ACC clients and $100 for private clients. Appointments with Margie Olds, Physiotherapy Specialist, are $80 for ACC clients and $150 for new  private clients.  Our clinic is based in central Auckland and is readily accessible to all motorways with free parking at the clinic

MARGIE OLDS

Margie Olds specialises in the management of shoulder injuries and is well regarded for her International teaching responsibilities in the UK, Sweden and New Zealand. Her passion for shoulders has extended to her having designed and developed a specific shoulder brace for use in sport and she is the Founder of ‘Flawless Motion’. Margie's PhD investigated shoulder instability after a first time shoulder dislocation. She is the founder and owner of the Auckland Shoulder Clinic and passionate about sharing her expertise with other therapists. Margie has been awarded Physiotherapy Specialist status from the NZ Physio Board, one of only 8 in New Zealand, and the only one in the upper North Island.

PRADNYA GADKARI

Pradnya has a clinical experience of more than 15 years working in musculoskeletal practice in hospitals and private practice, in India, United States and now here in New Zealand. She comes from a background of Neurophysiotherapy and while doing her Postgraduate degree in Musculoskeletal she developed a keen interest in management of shoulder injuries. Pradnya has also done a comprehensive course on diagnosis and management of various shoulder problems through Southern Musculoskeletal Seminars which has honed her skills in diagnosis and rehabilitation of complex shoulder problems. She has a special interest in rehabilitation of shoulder impingement syndromes and rotator cuff injuries. Pradnya has recently started her Masters studies at Auckland University of Technology with an aim to integrate research ideas into her clinical practice.

TOM ADAMS

Tom has more than 15 years of clinical experience. From early beginnings in London teaching hospitals, Tom moved into private practice and sports physiotherapy in his native London, and in recent years here in Auckland. A particular interest in the management of shoulder injuries led Tom to study his Masters in Sports & Exercise Medicine and a research project on movement awareness in the injured shoulder. Further work within a leading sports clinic and as a sports physio, particularly Judo, culminated in the privilege of a position at the London 2012 Olympics. With an ongoing desire to integrate current research into practice, Tom's PhD is investigating shoulder instability and force control.

Julie Bartlett

Julie Bartlett is an experienced physio with a special interest in upper limb injuries. She joins Auckland Should Clinic with a keen interest in rugby injuries and other shoulder and elbow injuries

Julie Bartlett

Julie has a background of 10 years clinical experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, working within private practices in both New Zealand and Australia. Throughout this time, Julie has worked with numerous rugby teams at both club and regional representative levels, and has a keen interest in rugby injuries. Julie has a keen interest in hand and other arm injuries and is our expert in the clinic for conditions that also involve the entire arm.
Two years ago, Julie started to work part time as a hand therapist and has enjoyed becoming more specialised, which has driven her to take up the opportunity to work at the shoulder clinic to see both shoulder and elbow injuries.
As part of her postgraduate studies, Julie has completed training in Western Acupuncture and offers this as part of her treatment when appropriate.
